Ardleigh Community Award

ACA stands for Ardleigh Community Award. This is a Year 6 initiative that encourages the children to develop the following areas:

Undertake service to School, home, Church and the community. This develops compassion, commitment and the confidence to make a difference.

Improve in areas which include sport, dance, fitness, Music, Art, Drama, Design and Computer Technology Activities. This develops a range of skills relevant to these areas, brings enjoyment and promotes the value of teamwork.

Develop practical and social skills and personal interests. This helps young people to realise their unique potential and gain greater self-esteem.

Outdoor Learning:

This develops teamwork and leadership, and challenges young people to push themselves beyond their expectations.

FaNs stands for Friends and Neighbours, a movement which is passionate about making every moment count for older people in Essex. The FaNs Club is a vital part of this movement and focuses on the benefits of bringing old and young people together. It aims to break down stereotypes on both sides, through the shared enjoyment of learning, laughing and companionship.

We have teamed up with Mistily Manor Care Home and the children will be meeting up with their 'Grandfriends' at regular intervals, either at Mistley Manor or at the school.
